HOW DO I INTERPRET MY ELECTRIC BILL?

A: Payment for the electricity generated by NAPOCOR/PPGI/Delta P/DMCI and distributed by PALECO among its member consumers.(Napupunta sa NAPOCOR/PPGI/Delta P/DMCI bilang bayad sa kuryenteng ipinamahagi ng PALECO sa mga member-cosumers nito.)

 

B: Payment for the delivery of electricity from the NAPOCOR/PPGI/Delta P/DMCI power plant to PALECO distribution lines thru the high voltage transmission grids.(Napupunta sa NAPOCOR/PPGI/Delta P/DMCI. Bayad sa paghahatid ng kuryente mula sa power plant ng NAPOCOR/PPGI/Delta P/DMCI sa pamamagitan ng high voltage transmission grids papunta sa mga linya ng PALECO.)

 

C: Cost of lost electricity due to technical and non-technical losses as stipulated in RA No. 7832.(Halaga ng kuryenteng nawawala dahil sa mga technical at non-technical losses na itinakda ayon sa RA No. 7832.)

 

D: This is used by PALECO to maintain and repair its facilities used to provide service to its member-consumers.(Ang halaga ng singiling ito ay ginagamit ng PALECO para sa pagsasaayos ng mga pasilidad nito na nagdadala ng serbisyo sa ating lahat na mga member-comsumers.)

 

E: This cost is for the services provided by PALECO to its member-consumers such as billing, collection, customer assistance and many others.(Para sa serbisyo ng PALECO sa mga member-consumers nito gaya ng billing, collection, customer assistance at iba pa.)

 

F: This cost is for the maintenance of electric meter performed by PALECO.(Napupunta sa PALECO, para sa pagmementena ng mga metro ng kuryente.)

 

G: This amount is for missionary electrification and environmental charges forwarded to Power Sector Assets & Liabilities Management (PSALM). This is used to provide electricity to island provinces and remote areas including our province. It is also used to protect our environment such as water shed areas.(Napupunta sa PSALM. Binubuo ng missionary electrification at environmental charges. Ito ay ginagamit upang mapaabot ang daloy ng kuryente sa mga isla at mga liblib na lugar na kasama ang ating lalawigan. Ginagamit rin ito upang mapangalagaan ang kapaligiran tulad ng mga water shed areas.)

 

H: VAT Computation

  • All entries are vatable except
    • missionary electrification;
    • and (2) environmental charges.
  • Surcharge is also subjected to VAT

VAT Computation

  • Only generation charge is subjected to VAT
  • Surcharge is still subjected to VAT

I: This includes the following:

  • Loan Condonation
  • Power Act Rate Reduction
  • Lifeline Rate (Discount), Subsidy: Provided as aid to residential consumers for consuming below 35 kWh and has no capacity to pay the entire amount of consumed electricity.

WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO AVAIL SENIOR CITIZENS DISCOUNT AND HOW WILL YOU QUALIFY?

    • The monthly residential consumption must not exceed one hundred (100) kWh of electricity.
    • The kWh meter of the residing senior citizen must have been registered in his/her name for a period of not less than one (1) year.
    • The grant of senior citizen discount shall apply per household regardless of the number of senior citizens residing therein.
    • Residential senior citizen customers with multiple service contracts with PALECO registered in one name can only avail of the senior citizen discount for the place where he/she resides.
    • It must submit photocopy of the approved DSWD accreditation.
    • In operation for at least six (6) months and have a separate meter for electric utility.
  • For residential unit that is being rented and the electric service contract is registered in the name of owner, it is required that the kWh meter should have been registered in the name of the tenant senior citizen for at least 1 year and a copy of the agreement that the owner is willing to transfer the electric service contract in the name of the tenant who is a senior citizen must be submitted.
  • For senior citizen center where the electric service is originally registered in the name of another entity, it is required that center must have been in operation for at least 6 months and the operator of the center must submit document or any proof showing that the entity has agreed to transfer the said electric service contract to the name of senior citizen.
     

HOW DO I APPLY FOR SENIOR CITIZENS DISCOUNT?

  • Personal appearance. If thru a representative, show valid ID and authorization letter which shall be valid for 1 year from issuance.
  • Submit the following documents:
    • Birth Certificate, OSCA ID, passport, SSS, GSIS, Driver’s License, PRC ID, Postal ID, or Voter’s ID
    • Bgy Certification or affidavit of 2 disinterested persons proving residence
    • Electric bill in the name of the Senior Citizen
    • 1 pc 1 x 1 ID picture

Processing of the application is 15 calendar days. The applicant will be informed on the decision thru mail.


Senior Citizen end-users availing of the senior citizen discount shall renew annually their applications with the PALECO to ensure that they are still eligible for the said benefits and/or are still existent at the time of renewal.

HOW IS SENIOR CITIZENS DISCOUNT COMPUTED?

Sr Citizen Discount = 5% x (TRate x kWh used + Fixed Rate) x (100% – %Life Line Discount)

Sr Citizen Discount = 50% x [(TRate x kWh used + Fixed Rate) + (TransRate + DistRate) x kWh used]
