PALECO IN ACTION
The Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO), through its Member Services Division under the Institutional Services Department, in partnership with the Area South Operations Department, successfully conducted a Basic Electrical Troubleshooting Seminar on November 26 at Barangay Poblacion, Narra, Palawan.
A total of 40 member-consumer-owners (MCOs) from the municipalities of Aborlan and Narra participated in the activity.
The seminar featured a comprehensive discussion that included a briefer on PALECO—its role in rural electrification, the power family, common causes of power interruptions, power rate breakdown, and Republic Act 11361 or the Anti-Obstruction of Power Lines Act. Participants were also oriented on essential safety practices and basic electrical troubleshooting techniques for home use.
As part of the practicum, attendees were guided in creating their own extension cords, allowing them to apply the concepts learned. Prizes were also awarded to participants who actively engaged and correctly responded to the facilitators’ questions.
This initiative forms part of the implementation of PALECO’s approved Social Development Plan for 2025, reaffirming the Cooperative’s commitment to empowering its MCOs through continuous education and capacity-building activities.
